Hells Gate Naivasha – a Nairobi staycation must do!

Hey guys ✋✋

Today’s post has a ton of pictures so I’ll write it in captions. Enjoy 😊

The whole crew 😊 With everyone trying to look cool lol

These are the awesome people I travelled with. They were my first friends in university and we wanted to commemorate that with a big trip out of town 😊

That right there is Angelica 😊
We had pizza for breakfast because we're cool like that 😊
We had pizza for breakfast because we’re cool like that 😊 It was actually really early when we left our homes so we hadn’t eaten, and Big Square is the first thing we found 😏

Our first stop just so we’d feel all touristy was a viewpoint. The view was amazing, totally worth it 👌👌

We finally arrived! A few hours later and after driving thru effing El Nino lol.

The place is sooo beautiful. Totally worth the drive, especially if you're into the whole nature trails vibe.

I'm obsessed with Zebras (the b/w had me chasing them all through the park lol) so we tried to get as close as we could without scaring them off

The trails all through the park were great for taking quiet walks or biking around, but we opted to drive because our main goal was hiking at the actual gorge.

We eventually made it to the gorge! This is what I have in mind when I think of Hell's Gate - wading through a crater-like situationn. Only this was a lot harder than I thought it would be, with all the climbing and slippery paths and all.

We got a guide so we wouldn’t get lost, and realized that it was a MUST have for any tour of the gorge. It’s a tricky place that has been known to get more than a little dangerous so be sure to just swallow the cost and get one. Price is highly flexible though, so negotiate a little why doncha 😏

And this was the view from the top of all that pile of rock. Totally worth the climb. From here we drove back through the park, harassed some animals (warthogs included lol) then made the drive home with a pit stop for roasted meat in Nakuru. All in all a great Sunday.
